Home environment plays an important role in the holistic development of children in early childhood. During this period, it is important to evaluate the home environment in which children live in order to provide them with the environment they need. The Home Observation for Measurement of the Environment (the HOME Inventory), which was developed to assess children's home environments and offers a holistic approach to the assessment of the home environment, is frequently used in studies on the subject. In this context, the present review study aims to introduce the HOME Inventory, to provide information about its psychometric properties, and to review the strengths and weaknesses of the inventory. Within the scope of the study, how and for what purposes the inventory is used is explained and national and international studies on the inventory are presented.
